Hospitality Manager

Head Lifeguard

Job Summary:

The head lifeguard will oversee and schedule the lifeguard team, manage aquatic programming, and ensure the safety and well-being of all members/guest at our aquatic facility. Lifeguard/Swim Instructor

Job Summary:

A Lifeguard/Swim instructor ensures the safety and well-being of all members/guests at our aquatic facility. You will be part of a culture whose mission is to provide a friendly, respectful, and inclusive environment to OTLBC club members and the community. We are looking for individuals who maintain open lines of communication, work cooperatively with other staff, and know how to have fun while being very safety oriented.

Servers/Bartenders

Job Summary:

As a server, you are responsible for providing excellent customer service, taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring an enjoyable dining experience for our members and guests. In addition to regular shifts, there will be opportunities to work special events, including private parties, weddings, club gatherings, tournaments, etc.

Front Desk Supervisor 

Job Summary:
Responsible for overseeing daily front desk operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and supporting the overall function of the club. This position will be responsible for opening and/or closing  the club and being the supervisor on duty. They will also ensure that all front desk activities are managed efficiently and that the club runs smoothly with no operational disruptions. The role requires leadership, problem-solving, and strong communication skills to enhance the member experience and support internal team coordination.

Join the OTC Board of Directors

The Ottawa Tennis Club (OTC) invites members to volunteer for the Board of Directors.

About the OTC Board
The OTC Board of Directors is governance-focused and meets monthly to fulfill its responsibilities under the Canada Not-for-Profit Corporations Act.

We Are Looking For Board Members Who Are:

  • Strategic thinkers committed to OTC’s mission and long-term success.
  • Skilled volunteers willing to share their expertise.
  • Representatives of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Team players with excellent communication skills who are engaged with OTC programs and activities.
  • Ready to serve as ambassadors for the OTC.
  • Active OTC members for the two preceding calendar years.

 Key Responsibilities of Board Members:

  • Overseeing the implementation of the 2025-28 Strategic Plan.
  • Ensuring effective leadership and governance of the club.
  • Enhancing the OTC’s connection with diverse local communities, including Old Ottawa South, Ottawa’s broader tennis community, and local schools.
  • Promoting diversity, inclusion and community building within the OTC.
  • Supporting any fundraising campaigns.
  • Overseeing OTC’s finances and the maintenance and upkeep of its buildings and facilities.

Expertise Sought:
The Board welcomes volunteers from all backgrounds, especially those with expertise in:

  • Legal matters
  • Construction, engineering, and project management

Join the Asset Management Committee

The Asset Management Committee takes a systematic approach to the management of all OTC physical assets by developing a comprehensive asset management strategy owned and operated by the OTC.

This is a NEW committee reporting directly to the Board of Directors. We are seeking 3 or 4 people who have knowledge and interest in Asset Management and Maintenance strategies, for example: Construction, Engineering and Project Management.

This committee will be instrumental in shaping and safeguarding the future of OTC.

The commitment will be a 1-2 hour meeting every 2-3 months, perhaps more often during the earlier stages of the Committee.

Garden Team
Volunteers are assigned a small section of the OTC garden to maintiain on their own schedule. Volunteers will also be asked to join in garden-wide tasks in spreading compost/mulch. No special skills needed, we will help guide your learning, especially in perennials. Please send us an email to info@ottawatennisclub.ca if you are interested or have questions.
 
Round Robins
The OTC hosts seven Round Robin sessions each week, organized by dedicated volunteer coordinators. These sessions rely entirely on volunteers - without them, they cannot take place. If you are interested in volunteering, please email info@ottawatennisclub.ca.
 
 
 

Volunteer Awards

Dave Fleming Volunteer Spirit Award
Initiated in 1999 by the Ottawa Tennis Club Board, the award is named after DAVE FLEMING to honour his long-standing volunteer contributions to the club. This award is presented every two years to an OTC Member who embodies the spirit of volunteerism. This special award recognizes the significant and long-term contributions of an individual who consistently demonstrates enthusiastic support for the club's traditions and values through their volunteer efforts. Nominations are submitted by fellow members to a panel of reviewers, lead by Dave Fleming and comprising a past award recipient, the OTC Executive Director, and respresentatives from the Board.
 
Criteria:
Character The nominee treats members and staff equally and with respect, willingly volunteers for a range of activites, is responsive and enthusiastic, shows a genuine desire to make the club members' experience enjoyable, supports and respects the club's traditions and values.
 
Long-Term Commitment The nominee has contributed service and support to club activites and initiatives consistently over a minimum of 3 to 5 years.
 
Impact This person provides 'value -added' support to the club, goes beyond expected responsibilities, contributes to a range of activities, helps out where needed and demonstrates initiative.

Norman King Junior Award
Donated by former member Molly King in honor of her late husband, Norman King. This award is presented annually to an Ottawa Tennis Club Junior Tennis Member who exemplifies fair play, sportsmanship, enthusiasm for the game fo tennis, and an eagerness to help other members enjoy their experience at the club.
